Welcome

This is the Brian Jones Radio City Tribute Website. There's lots of new memorabilia, some never seen nor heard in a very long time, for example the horoscopes bed including the Linda Lewis jingle, as well as all of the previous material. This is a completely revised website, with better navigation and a much improved server.

This is a tribute website dedicated to Radio City in Liverpool. It contains audio and images which have been collected between the years 1974 through to the mid eighties.

My holy grail jingle has been realised, many thanks to Tim Brady who has supplied me with a copy of the Barbara Dickson City jingle based on her single 'Answer Me', Tim has also given me a Scully promo. Tim has worked for Rock FM, Magic 999, Magic 1548 and is now the Senior Tutor at The National Broadcasting School. Right onto my next holy grail jingle, does anyone have the Sherbet-Howzat City jingle, I've never heard it but I do believe of its existence.

Brian Jones

Brian Jones

Brian loved radio, but none more so than his home town station 194 Radio City. Brian created this tribute website as a thank you for the hours of enjoyment that Radio City gave him. He intended to maintain it and update it as often as possible. Sadly, after being diagnosed with cancer, Brian passed away in March 2017.

Before his untimely death, Brian made arrangements for this Radio City Tribute website to remain on the internet, after his passing, for all enthusiasts to enjoy. Unfortunately due to an error the domain name expired and the site was lost.

However in early 2020, Radio City's Bill Bingham made contact with Brian's original webmaster and, with a new domain name, arranged for the original site to be restored. It's thanks to Bill's efforts that this tribute website is now back on-line for all to enjoy, just as Brian wanted.

This site is now quite out of date, but there are currently no plans to update or change it. It stands now as Brian left it as a tribute to the early days of 194 Radio City, but also as a tribute to Brian Jones himself for his love and dedication to this website and to his beloved 194 Radio City.
