This advertising campaign was to announce Radio City's new split frequency service for City 96.7 Fm and the all-new City talk 1548 Am thus dropping the historic 194 frequency from all it's announcements. The 194 frequency would still be used but not announced on-air in favour of 1548 kHz. The date for the introduction of this service was 23rd October 1989 Many thanks to Jim Barrington in Australia for sending me these images. |
The Radio City newsroom is the place where the emotions can run between the Hillsborough disaster, the death of Princess Diana and the latest celebrity visit or an announcement that Liverpool is to be the City of culture in 2008. Over the years from 1974 onwards the newsroom has won countless awards to being one of the biggest and best newsrooms. Just some of the journalists who have worked there and gone to dizzier heights include:- Carolyn Brown (Radio 4 Continuity and News), Paul Rowley (BBC Political unit), Tony Grant (BBC Radio Producer), Carole Walker (BBC TV Political correspondent), Peter Marshall (Newsnight), Ben Brown (BBC TV), Paul Davies (ITN News), Nick Pollard (ITN), and Ruby Williams (BBC Radio Merseyside News Editor). |
